According to O Jogo journalist Filipe Dias, a move for the 25-year-old may be close. Speaking on Sky Sports’ Transfer Talk podcast, he claimed that “United this time are really closing in on Bruno Fernandes” and that talks have “intensified”.
A few fans insisted Fernandes’ creativity could be the key for them as a signing, with the midfielder providing an impressive 13 assists across all competitions this season.
Some fans of the Manchester side started imagining the prospect of potentially seeing him alongside the likes of Paul Pogba, Fred and Scott McTominay in the United midfield.
After going through the entire summer of potentially thinking Fernandes could join the club, nothing happened to fall into place. But this time, it appears as if things are beginning to pick up pace, and there really could be a chance of the Portugal international heading to Old Trafford. His style of play is exactly what the Red Devils could desperately do with, and it’s no surprise to see fans of the Manchester side get very excited at the prospect of him seeing him in a United shirt very soon.
