da betway: It’s now common knowledge that, this year, Tottenham became the first club to fail to sign a single player in a summer transfer window since the system’s introduction in 2003. However, two players that will have felt like new additions to boss Mauricio Pochettino are wingers Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura.
da wazamba: Lamela was brought to White Hart Lane from Roma just as Gareth Bale left for Madrid in the summer of 2013. However, the Argentine struggled to make an impression in the Premier League, making just nine league appearances and failing to register a single goal in his first season. Injury trouble hasn’t helped the 26-year-old but he is finally starting to look like the player Spurs thought they were getting all those years ago.
In Saturday’s 3-1 win over Fulham, Lamela came on for Eric Dier with the score at 1-1 and looked bright. After Trippier had put the North London side ahead, Lamela’s driving run and through ball set up Harry Kane perfectly to finish the game.
Moura was the reason Lamela started the game on the bench though as Pochettino went with the 36-cap Brazilian and Alli either side of Kane. It was a move that paid off, with Moura opening the scoring 14 minutes in at Wembley. Moura only joined from PSG in January this year and has looked a top player with a full pre-season under his belt.
