Celtic right-back Mikael Lustig ended speculation about his Celtic future on Wednesday, extending his stay at Celtic Park until May 2019.
The popular Swedish international has already been at Celtic Park for five years and is enjoying some of the best form his career under Brendan Rodgers this season.
He loves life at the Hoops and has become a cult hero with supporters after a series of outlandish celebrations and moments in the green and white.
Having already made over 150 appearances for the club, he’s well placed to breeze through the 200 mark and be one of the Bhoys’ longest serving players.
He’s been an almost ever present presence in Rodgers’ team, already making 32 appearances since the former Liverpool manager arrived. Adept on the right flank or in the centre of defence, he’s a solid and dependable option for the Celtic manager both at home and abroad.
The news went down well with Celtic supporters and they took to Twitter to discuss the deal on Wednesday night…
