da bwin： Mario Balotelli’s Liverpool nightmare is finally over. The enigmatic Italian has joined Nice on a free – yet permanent – transfer.
da luck： After years of gaffes and headlines punctuated by the odd piece of footballing wizardry, Mario Balotelli has become something of a punchline amongst football fans.
He was left out of Italy’s Euro 2016 squad by Antonio Conte, and after a poor spell at Liverpool, followed by a frustrating loan at AC Milan, it looked like Balotelli’s career was on the verge of slipping into nothingness.
Twitter is awash tonight with people giving their take on Balotelli’s transfer. Many are simply cracking jokes and Liverpool fans are glad to see him go – though not this one:
Nice, however, have thrown Balotelli a lifeline, and the fact that this is a club who gambled on another enigmatic talent over a year ago isn’t lost on many Twitter users.
