da luck: Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has told beIN SPORTS that he is keeping track of Monaco teenager Kylian Mbappe, whom he believes could be the next Thierry Henry.
da bwin: What’s the word?
At the age of 18, Mbappe has already put his name in the history books at Monaco when he became the club’s youngest player and goalscorer last season.
Interestingly, the last footballer to hold those records was Henry, and Wenger believes that Mbappe has similar qualities to the former Premier League star.
Of course, Wenger would know better than anyone considering that he coached Henry for eight years before the striker moved on to Barcelona.
While speaking to beIN SPORTS, the Gunners boss said:
“Mbappe is like Henry, maybe not exactly, but it is true that he has similar qualities. The talent and potential is similar.
“Of course we are following him. We know him very well. He is a guy who is electric, like Thierry was. He can dribble and go past people and is efficient. He could be another Henry. He is developing well. I think he extended his contract with Monaco last season, so Monaco will decide his future.”

What qualities does Mbappe possess?
Well, we already know that he has an eye for goal at such a young age having scored seven in 33 career appearances.
In terms of his style, like Henry, he is fast on his feet, has great vision to pick out a pass and has the skill to get himself out of danger.
Mbappe is versatile in that he is equally strong on either foot and has the ability to cause problems by cutting in from the left.
His performances have caught the eye of many, and considering how young he is, his next step could be crucial with regards to development.
At least at Arsenal he would be nurtured and his style would be very much welcomed at the Emirates, so watch this space…
