He moved to Bayern Munich in 2013, winning another three Bundesliga trophies, whilst he also scored the winning goal in the 2014 World Cup final for his country against Argentina. However, illness and injury stopped him from hitting the next level, and he went back to Dortmund in 2016 where he has remained ever since.
According to Sky Deutschland (via Ruhr24.com), Arsenal are interested in signing the 27-year-old, who is currently valued at £19.8m by Transfermarkt, on a free transfer next summer.
